Cost Estimate Details
When you get estimates for tree removal, disposal, and stump grinding, it is essential that you understand exactly what is included in the tree service quote and what might lead to additional expenses. Our tree removal calculator is designed to offer you a breakdown of the services and extras you choose as you complete the calculator. If you include stump removal and/or the downed trees hauled away, we include that cost as well.
Included in this Cost Estimate
- Site Assessment: Initial site visit to determine the best method of removal, tree height and type, and other factors to determine the cost based on it’s size, location, and condition.
- Skilled Labor: All labor costs required to safely remove the tree, which can vary depending on the complexity and risk involved.
- Equipment Use: Fees that may be assessed to cover the use of specialized equipment like chain saws, ropes and pulleys, a wood chipper, stump grinder and all safety equipment used by the arborists.
- Stump and Branch Removal: If you select to have the tree(s), branches and stump(s) removed and hauled away, the estimate will reflect that cost, including estimated dump or disposal fees.
- Basic Site Cleanup: Cleaning, raking or blowing the area of the job site after the tree and stump have been taken down, to remove any remaining debris and make the area safe.
Not Included in this Cost Estimator
- Tree Replacement: If you want a new tree planted after the removal, you’ll have to do this yourself unless it’s otherwise agreed upon.
- Damage to Unseen Utilities: If you have a septic tank or other underground utilities like a water meter near the street, etc, you should make the tree company aware of this before they begin cutting, otherwise they are not liable for damages.
- Replanting Grass: While the tree service will make efforts to rough grade the area, they won’t replant grass or flowers.
- Public Utility Issues: If the tree is entangled with utility lines like phone or electric, the additional work or coordination with utility companies for safe removal is not usually included.
- Emergency Tree Services: If you need the tree removed urgently and need emergency tree service, this may incur additional charges.
- Permits: If the tree is within a right of way, or requires a permit for tree removal, the cost of obtaining this permit is usually not included in the estimate. The same holds true if you live in an HOA community and need approval to have the tree removed.
